AI has already made its way into the trades. An apprentice checking a curb-line calculation, someone prepping for their Red Seal exam with a chatbot quizzing them after class, a newcomer using AI to translate a safety manual into their first language.

The question isn’t really whether AI belongs on the job site anymore. It’s already there. The real question is: who’s making sure it’s right?

In this episode, co-hosts Jeremy Marks and Carolina Cohoon sit down with Corey Chambers of LiUNA Local 1059 in London, Ontario, to talk about what AI actually looks like inside a trades training centre. Corey shares what happens when AI gets something confidently wrong, how apprentices are learning to verify instead of just trust, and why the instructors there see this less as a threat to the trade and more as one more tool worth teaching people to use well.
